Yarn for knitting

1. Commonly used counts of knitted fabric yarns 2. The uses of each count of knitted fabric yarns 3. Index requirements for knitted fabric yarns 4. Seasonality of knitted fabrics 5. Recent trends in knitted fabric yarns 6. USTER 5% index data 7 , USTER 25% index data
Commonly used counts of knitted fabric yarns
1. The commonly used counts of knitted fabric yarns are between 7S–40S, and those above 45S are rarely used. 2. Several commonly used counts of knitted fabrics: 20S/21S 26S 30S/32S 40S. 3. Counts below 16S and above 40S are rarely used.
The purpose of each yarn count
1. 7S–16S is used as the base yarn for terry fleece fabrics and thicker jersey fabrics. 2. 20S/21S is used for the bottom yarn of terry fleece fabric, pique mesh fabric, jersey and other fabrics. 3. 26S–32S are used for terry veils, jersey and other fabrics. 4. 40S is used for terry veil, jersey and other fabrics.
Index requirements for knitted fabric yarn
1. Evenness CV% 2. Details (-50%), thick places (+50%), cotton grains (+200%). 3. Hairiness: If the hairiness is too long and excessive, it is easy to take off during weaving, and the cloth surface is easy to fluff and pill. Fabrics with high requirements must be dehaired. 4. Twist: The twist of knitted fabric is lower than that of woven yarn. High twist makes it easy to make braids during weaving. The cloth surface feels hard. If the yarn is used for fleece fabric, it needs weak twist. 5. Strength: Knitted fabric yarn does not have high requirements for strength, unless there are extraordinary requirements. 6. Foreign fibers: The standard for foreign fibers in knitted fabrics is: 20 pieces/piece of cloth (20-25KG). For various test indicators, please refer to the USTER Bulletin. All test indicators of good quality yarn can reach USTER within 5%-25%.
The seasonality of knitted fabrics
The seasonality of knitted fabrics is strong, and the year is divided into two seasons: 1) From March to June every year, this season produces autumn and winter (F/W, F/H) For the development of large-scale goods and the next spring and summer (S/S), the yarns used for large-scale goods are mostly coarse-count, and the colors are mostly medium and dark. 2) From September to December every year, spring and summer are produced in this season. (S/S) bulk goods and the development of the next autumn and winter season (F/W, F/H). The yarns used for bulk goods are mostly fine count, 32S, 40S, and mostly light colors.
Recent trends in knitting yarn
1. In recent years, due to the high price of cotton, the original Cotton yarn has begun to use CVC, T/C, or cotton-polyester interlaced fabric. Second, as the profits of Cotton’s general yarns declined, knitted fabric factories began to transform and increase the use of various functional, conceptual, and differentiated chemical fiber yarns. 3. New spinning methods: MVS, low-torque yarn, etc.
